BARÜ Climbs 128 Places in URAP World Ranking

Bartın University (BARÜ) reached its best-ever position in the URAP 2025-2026 World University Ranking, rising 128 places to rank 1,869th.

The 2025-2026 World University Ranking has been announced by URAP (University Ranking by Academic Performance), an international ranking organization operating under the Informatics Institute of Middle East Technical University (METU). In the ranking, where 3,000 higher education institutions from around the world were evaluated, Bartın University (BARÜ) achieved a significant success this year by climbing 128 places. Continuing to increase its research capacity and academic performance, BARÜ ranked 1,869th, achieving its best position to date in the URAP World Ranking.

BARÜ rises 128 places compared to the previous year

The ranking, prepared based on objective data collected from reliable sources, takes into account scientific publications, citation numbers and academic performance indicators. In the list, BARÜ recorded a remarkable improvement by rising from 1,997th place to 1,869th. Entering the URAP World Ranking for the first time in the 2020-2021 period at 2,484th place, BARÜ climbed 254 places in the 2024-2025 period and 128 places in the 2025-2026 period, moving up a total of 382 places over the last two years.

BARÜ ranks 51st in Türkiye

A total of 129 universities from Türkiye were evaluated in the URAP 2025-2026 World Ranking this year. BARÜ ranked 51st among the universities from Türkiye included in the ranking. Moving up 4 places compared to the previous year, BARÜ also strengthened its position nationally. Thus, BARÜ surpassed 78 universities from Türkiye included in the ranking.

The URAP World Ranking is prepared by taking into consideration indicators such as the number of articles, number of citations, total number of scientific documents, total publication impact, total citation impact and international collaboration. The bibliometric data used in the ranking are obtained from the InCites interface, which is based on the Web of Science database.
