The Nursing Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Bartın University (BARÜ) has been accredited for five years by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Nursing Education Programmes (HEPDAK).
The Nursing Department of Bartın University (BARÜ) Faculty of Health Sciences has achieved a significant success by officially confirming its educational quality and academic competence. Following evaluations conducted by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Nursing Education Programmes (HEPDAK), which is authorised by the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC), the department was granted full accreditation for a period of five years.
With the HEPDAK accreditation, the Nursing Department demonstrated that its education and training structure, academic staff, practical training opportunities, assessment and evaluation processes, and continuous improvement mechanisms comply with national standards. In addition, with the accreditation certificate awarded to the Nursing Department, all nine faculties at BARÜ now have departments holding accreditation certificates. As a result, the number of programmes at BARÜ whose quality standards have been certified at national and international levels has increased to 37 (29 undergraduate and 8 associate degree programmes).
Expressing his satisfaction that a programme within the Faculty of Health Sciences had received accreditation for the first time, BARÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya emphasised the importance of programme accreditation as a foundation for institutional accreditation processes and congratulated everyone who contributed to the achievement.
