Bartın University’s Sports-Friendly Campus Initiatives Recognized with the “Ethos Universitas Certificate”

Bartın University (BARÜ) has received international recognition for its sports-friendly campus initiatives, certifying its work on ethical values, social responsibility, and volunteerism through the “Ethos Universitas Certificate.”
BARÜ documented its commitment to social responsibility and ethical values in sport with an international certificate awarded by Panathlon International, an organization recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Through this achievement, the university qualified for the “Ethos Universitas Certificate.”
The certification process, coordinated by BARÜ’s Sports-Friendly Campus Coordination Office, formally acknowledges at the international level that the university embraces the spirit of Fair Play and universal ethical principles across all areas of campus life, from sports to social engagement.
Emphasizing the importance of protecting ethical values in sports and fostering a culture of volunteerism, BARÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya stated:
“From education to sports, we attach great importance to quality processes and ethical values. Thanks to the ecosystem we have built through our ‘green campus’ and ‘sports-friendly campus’ initiatives, we have earned the Ethos Universitas Certificate. We are pleased that our inclusive and sustainable approach to developing a sports culture has been internationally recognized, and I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this process.”
