An Invention Developed at BARÜ to Improve Light Quality Receives a Patent
28 Ağustos 2026
A composite substrate technology developed at Bartın University (BARÜ) to improve light quality in OLED systems has been registered and patented by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT).
The invention titled “A Composite Substrate with an Intrinsic Wavelength Converter” developed by Lecturer Dr. Erkan Aksoy, General Coordinator at the Project and Technology Office of Bartın University (BARÜ), has been granted a patent by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT).
Offering an innovative approach to flexible polymer-based substrate technologies, the invention provides significant advantages, particularly in improving light quality in Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) systems. The developed composite substrate enables the blue light emitted by OLED systems to be converted into fluorescent light at orange or red wavelengths. The invention is expected to contribute to improving the quality of light in OLED-based lighting and display systems.
BARÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya stated that the patented composite structure is an important indicator of the university’s innovative and technology-oriented research. Rector Akkaya congratulated Lecturer Dr. Erkan Aksoy, the project coordinator, and wished him continued success in his work.
